Donald Trump reaches across the aisle, to grab the hand of Obama nominee James Comey in an unexpectedly non-partisan move. Remember that James Comey played an unprecedented role in this election in that many people (including Nate Silver and Bill Clinton) believe he handed the election to Trump.

As usual, Obama is the cause of all of this. His asinine attempts to "reach across the aisle" placed this snake-in-waiting directly in the way of his successor. Thanks Obama!

Comey is here to stay. Expect much more successful attempts to limit civil liberties and hack iPhones, oh and more leaks of course. Couldn't have a good FBI without leaks.

He's got no control over his agency or the people working in it. Both Republicans and Democrats should have called for him to go.

Or, if he had the dignity, he should have resigned.

Just in case Trumpsters & friends were confused as whether Comey was helpful to the cause and deserves protection as one of their own, your leader certainly thinks so.

He has a 10 year appointment. He's served a bit over 3. While the POTUS can fire him, he's also gotta have cause. So far Comey hasn't done anything, while serving in the Trump administration that would be cause for termination. Then you also have the wrongful termination legal issue. Has he done anything wrong? Some think he has and some think he hasn't. I understand that there are investigations still underway. Time will tell...

There is always the option of nominating candidates that haven't done things that place them on a collision course with the FBI . Or is that asking too much?

Funny to see Dems praise him, then call for his job all in a matter of months. Sure shows their agenda.

Kinda like how the Republicans called for his job over the lack of charges against Clinton and then praised him for re-opening the investigation all in a matter of months? Boy, that sure showed their agenda.

In both cases Democrats criticized him. It was totally inappropriate for him to call a press conference and announce they were dropping the investigation and then editorialize about Clinton's actions. It was then INSANELY inappropriate for him to write a letter to congress that he could be certain would be leaked saying he was reopening an investigation despite having literally zero knowledge of the object of investigation contained any pertinent information.

He disgraced the FBI and cast doubt on the impartiality of America's foremost law enforcement body. If he had any care for his organization he should have resigned long ago.
