i saw this movie 2 days ago. It was a highly entertaining movie. I've always like Edward Norton. He's a badass/cool actor, and he's friggin awesome in this movie. I swear, ed norton is OVERDUE for an oscar. This role probably won't get him a nomination, but you can just see it in this movie. he had just one hell of a performance. If you're an Ed Norton fan, you'll love this movie. Jessica Biel didn't suck, and she actually played her part decently; i was surprised. The real surprise of the movie was that sideways dude (Paul Giamatti). I thought he'd be typecasted, but man, this movie is good for him because he played his role convincingly, and had a really good performance.

If you hate magicians, just go watch this movie for the acting. This movie puts on a clinic for acting. Of course, that also means taht the director for the movie did one hell of a job.

I loved the theme and style of the movie. pretty cool ending. One of the few great movies to finally come out of hollywood in the past many years.

this movie only made 1 million so far (only released in 51 theatres? don't get it..).

anyways, do yourself a favor and go watch it!

it got like two thumbs down for being dreary or something.

that's nuts. well, it got a thumbs up and a thumbs down. Some dude named Ridley gave it thumbs down.

The movie has a dark atmosphere and a very classic film style. I thought it was very refreshing, and very needed. The style, cimentography, etc was all well done. Nothing was flashy. everything moved calmly.

donno, I thought it was very very refreshing to finally see a movie like this after a slew of box office hyped "hits."

Just saw it last night. Very good movie compared to the crap I've seen as of late. It's a period piece that focuses on a magician in Vienna and a childhood love story. It's got mediocre acting however, could have been better with better acting and plot development. I give it a 7.5/10.

This was a fantastic movie.

Easily the Best Movie of the YEar!..........and one of a handful of the best for this Decade

Why can't Hollywood make more movies like this??? The crowd in the movie theater applauded at the end....and highly praised it as the credits rolled.

Wow I just got back, great movie! I really enjoyed it a lot, so did my GF. I did however find one slipup in the movie...

SPOILER BELOW YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!

When they showed the horse with the blood on it, it was on the right side of the horse and none on the left side of the horse, but she was "stabbed" in the neck on the left side of her neck. Granted she could have been leaning over the horse on the right side, but when they showed her, she was just kinda hunched over. I dunno, seemed like it would be on both sides of the horse if anything.

No error in the movie.

If I recall correctly, her head was on the right side of the horse.

Saw The Illusionist movie yesterday....and all I could say is wow...excellent flick. Norton is kickass as usual...

Defininetly one of the best movies I've seen in a very very long time...

This was a very good movie.

I was surprised that Jessica Biel did a credible job. I think she's hot, but never thought she did a good acting job until this movie. Of course, Norton and Giamatti blow her acting away, but that's to be expected. Great job by the guy from Tristan & Isolde as the prince too. Poor guy is going to get typecast as swinging a 2 incher. 2 fairly big movies and 2 hotties dumping him.

I expect this will turn out to be the better of the 2 movies (the Prestige). This is just an excellent quality movie all around. I have a feeling the Prestige will be a lot of hype and special effects and not have the substance. I hope I'm wrong though.

I saw up to the last few minutes (had to leave the theatre), but I didn't think it was great. I love Giamatti and Norton, and Biel did an ok job. But I thought the movie was too slow and never really got too far into it.

u didnt see the last few minutes? are you serious? you need to go back to the theater and see the ending then. that is what makes the whole movie

I found the twist ending to be stupid. Almost deus ex machina stupid. The explanations wasn't clear either.
The acting was definitely superb, and so was mostly everything else.
But magic tricks are only good in real life because in movies, you could make whatever magic trick you want, it's just special effects.
The hand to the forehead trick it taught was good. I tried it on my friend and it worked pretty well 😛

Yeah I know, had to go in emergency. Will watch the ending when it comes out on DVD. But it would have to be a killer ending to save the movie, which was meh.
