I saw the Prestige in the theaters when it first came out. I had kind of wanted to see the Illusionist, but with the knowledge that a simingly similiar movie was also coiming out that had Scarlett Johansson's boobies in it, i decided to skip it.

I liked the prestige. I had no real complaints.

But last night I saw the Illusionist finally, and it is way better. If you haven't seen it because you, like me, didn't want to see two of the same movies, i recommend you to go rent it.

really? i thought the illusionist was good, but i liked the prestige a whole lot more. the prestige made me think a little more and i see it as having better replay value to pick up all the little intricacies i may have overlooked.

The ending of The Prestige ruined the whole film for me pretty much, whereas The Illusionist ended well.

The Illusionist <> The Prestige

You can't really compare the two, despite both being about Magicians at the turn of the century.

And for the record, both are great movies. I happened to like the Prestige a little bit more, though.

both were good, although Illusionist was a little slower. Scarlett Johansson made Prestige better though.

The Prestige was better, though the Illusionist was good. I felt the Prestige actually gave you clues about what was going on/going to happen and felt more... intelligent... while the Illusionist just shoved an ASS-TON of omitted details down your throat all at once and expected you to just accept the "twist".
