The "I like" thread.

I'm personally a little tired of people badmouthing assorted laptops for one reason or another. (The only exception to the rule is if you have had to spend 4 or more hours on hold to get said laptop fixed. Then, it's valid to hate them.) 🙂

Anyway, I'm starting this thread so that people can post the GOOD things about a given laptop. Not a full review, just a short comment.

For example:

-I like the IBM 701c because of the incredibly awesome "butterfly keyboard.

-I like the Toshiba Libretto 50-class subnotebook because it's so amazingly small. (Think VHS-tape.)

I like the aluminum PowerBook line because:

- OS X, of course
- the keyboards are full-size and really nice to type on
- instant sleep/wake when you open or close the lid
- killer looks
- thin and light with respectable battery life (at least in newer models)

i like my averatec 3350 because:

i paid around 800 for it about 10 months ago
1.6pent-m, 512mb, 80gb,12in
most important: 4LBS w/ 3.5 hr batt life 🙂

p.s. customer service is awesome...people who speak english and believe it or not...are helpful! 🙂

I have had my Sony Vaio PCGFXA-47(all-in-one notebook) for 3 1/2 years and it has worked flawlessly. The only problem I ever had was the oem battery died on it. So I bought 2 batteries from sources I found online. At-Batt.com in Los Angeles area had a 3,200 mah battery for 134.95 which was the only place I found which had a higher capacity than 3,000 Mah. Global Batteries in Kentucky had a 3,000 Mah battery for 89.95(very inexpensive ,considering Sony wants 249.95 for theirs) Using both batteries with my Wifi card, surfing the net and playing online poker I get 5 hours of use. My processor is a Mobile Athlon 4 1 ghz. I like my computer.

I've heard some iffy things about Averatec, but I've yet to talk to someone who actually owns one. I might be getting one myself.
Thanks for the tip!
