So i pulled one of the last HD58701GB from ZZF for MSRP + $33 tax + $13 overnight. placed my order at 10:40PST, and they went out of stock shortly after. newegg ran out 10 minutes before this as far as i can tell, and i havent seen anywhere else selling them.

One report had Dell getting 90% of the initial batch, I keep checking there to see if they show up in complete systems.

i have a 22 inch 1680x1050, a 27.5" 1920x1200, im sure i could bum another monitor off someone in the house. if eyefinity works with CF i plan on getting a second 5870 along with waterblocks for both to overclock them to the limit, and then getting either 2 more 22 inch panels, or 2 more 27.5" panels, depending on how much i feel like spending and if i can get some extra desk space lol

I think they will be included in some new Windows 7 bundles. So probably won't show up till mid-October.

the black market, lol

j/k are there any AU based web retailers?

The 5870 runs just slightly faster than 4870X2 from the looks of it so I'm not in too much of a hurry to upgrade. I'll wait for the 2GB single card/4GB dual cards to come out because GTA:IV uses up an ungodly amount of video mem.

No. I wish the 5850 was for sale, I have yet to see it.
I'm having a very hard time justifying $379.99 for the 5870, when no games today (or probably in the next 5 months) take full advantage of this card. The one nice thing is the DX11, yet again, nothing on the market needs this card right now. I'm sure 4890 sales are going to jump up...but almost 400 dollars for a card that won't really use its full potential for another 6-12 months, and by that time prices will be lower.

I managed to get the XFX 5870 off ZipzoomFly then right after it went out of stock, so I either got the last one or pretty close. I live about 4 miles from ZipzoomFly so if they ship it today I'll have it tomorrow. This will be going with my 26 inch 1920x1200 Doublesight LCD...

Seeing as I just picked up a 4890 earlier this year (which was an upgrade from a 9600GSO), I'm in no hurry myself. I'll probably pick one up early next year when I do my next round of system upgrades.

Same here, DX11 sounds great, but I don't know how important it is going to be. Heck are there any DX10 exclusive games yet?

I have my eye on a Sapphire 4980 2gb, video memory is what makes a video card useful in the long run IMO. My 8800GTS 640mb has lasted me for a really long time and I could keep using it except for Half Life 2 Cinematic mod eats video ram like no tomorrow.

They are actually showing right now on their Alienware setups. For a difference of $250 over the default GTX 260.
