Co-Founder with James Dobson of the rabidly anti-gay Family Research Council busted with rent-boy!
The pictures on the Rentboy.com profile show a shirtless young man with delicate features, guileless eyes, and sun-kissed, hairless skin. The profile touts his "smooth, sweet, tight ass" and "perfectly built 8 inch cock (uncut)" and explains he is "sensual," "wild," and "up for anything" — as long you ask first. And as long as you pay.

On April 13, the "rent boy" (whom we'll call Lucien) arrived at Miami International Airport on Iberian Airlines Flight 6123, after a ten-day, fully subsidized trip to Europe. He was soon followed out of customs by an old man with an atavistic mustache and a desperate blond comb-over, pushing an overburdened baggage cart.

That man was George Alan Rekers, of North Miami — the callboy's client and, as it happens, one of America's most prominent anti-gay activists. Rekers, a Baptist minister who is a leading scholar for the Christian right, left the terminal with his gay escort, looking a bit discomfited when a picture of the two was snapped with a hot-pink digital camera.

Reached by New Times before a trip to Bermuda, Rekers said he learned Lucien was a prostitute only midway through their vacation. "I had surgery," Rekers said, "and I can't lift luggage. That's why I hired him." (Medical problems didn't stop him from pushing the tottering baggage cart through MIA.)

Yet Rekers wouldn't deny he met his slender, blond escort at Rentboy.com — which features homepage images of men in bondage and grainy videos of crotch-rubbing twinks — and Lucien confirmed it.

At the small western Miami townhome he shares with a roommate, a nervous Lucien expressed surprise when we told him that Rekers denied knowing about his line of work from the beginning. "He should've been able to tell you that," he said, fidgeting and fixing his eyes on his knees. "But that's up to him."

For decades, George Alan Rekers has been a general in the culture wars, though his work has often been behind the scenes. In 1983, he and James Dobson, America's best-known homophobe, formed the Family Research Council, a D.C.-based, rabidly Christian, and vehemently anti-gay lobbying group that has become a standard-bearer of the nation's extreme right wing. Its annual Values Summit is considered a litmus test for Republican presidential hopefuls, and Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter have spoken there. (The Family Research Council would not comment about Rekers's Euro-trip.)

He has also influenced American government, serving in advisory roles with Congress, the
White House, and the Department of Health and Human Services and testifying as a state's witness in favor of Florida's gay adoption ban. A former research fellow at Harvard University and a distinguished professor of neuropsychiatry at the University of South Carolina, Rekers has published papers and books by the hundreds, with titles like Who Am I? Lord and Growing Up Straight: What Families Should Know About Homosexuality.

"While he keeps a low public profile, his fingerprints are on almost every anti-gay effort to demean and dehumanize LGBT people," says Wayne Besen, a gay rights advocate in New York City and the executive director of Truth Wins Out, which investigates the anti-gay movement. "His work is ubiquitously cited by lobby groups that work to deny equality to LGBT Americans. Rekers has caused a great deal of harm to gay and lesbian individuals."

Rekers is a board member of the National Association for Research & Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH), an organization that systematically attempts to turn gay people straight. And the Huffington Post recently singled out Rekers as a member of the American College of Pediatricians — an official-sounding outfit in Gainesville that purveys lurid, youth-directed literature accusing gays of en masse coprophilia. (In an email, the college's Lisa Hawkins wrote, "ACPeds feels privileged to have a scholar of Dr. Rekers' stature affiliated with our organization. I am sure you will find Prof. Rekers to be an immaculate clinician/scholar, and a warm human being.")

Rekers lectures worldwide, from Europe to the Middle East, on teen sexuality. Yet during his ten-day sojourn with Lucien to London and Madrid, he had no lectures scheduled. Both men deny having sex on the trip, and emails exchanged between the two before their jaunt are cautiously worded.

"I'd like to propose another trip to Rome, Italy, for a week or more," Rekers wrote in an email dated March 21 obtained by New Times. "This is so exciting to have a nice Travel Assistant and traveling companion! Wow! I'm so glad I met you."

"I called and talked to the reservation guy in London and reserved a room with two twin beds," Rekers wrote on March 26.

"Now that I'm packed, tomorrow I'll work on completing my income tax return," Rekers wrote two days later. "Not fun... But I'll just remind myself that the fun trip is coming soon."

In his interview with New Times, Lucien didn't want to impugn his client, but he made it clear they met through Rentboy.com, which is the only website on which he advertises his services. Neither Google nor any other search engine picks up individual Rentboy.com profiles, any more than they pick up individual profiles on eHarmony or Match.com. You cannot just happen upon one.
Can't make this stuff up! :D

I am guessing that a friend of the rentboy learned who his client is and showed up with the camera planning to 'out' the minister.

Will be interesting to hear the whole story.

Eliminating another anti-gay bigot isn't a bad thing in my book.

The mind boggles at how these hypocrites not only exist, but apparently do so in large numbers.

With the incredible knowledge base accumulated at NARTH, it's amazing that Rekers hasn't been able to cure his own abnormal desires. I mean, we all know about NARTH's astounding success rate. Surely he'll soon announce a treatment breakthrough.

Newsflash. Information on the NARTH website clearly casts the Rentboy incident in a new and entirely innocent light:

http://www.narth.com/docs/newsumm.html

For clinicians and clients currently involved with SOCE [= sexual orientation change efforts], this study highlights the importance of developing appropriate nonsexual male relationships. Participants perceived the most helpful interventions to be a men's weekend/retreat, a psychologist, and a mentoring relationship. Considering the above findings regarding the significance of male identity and nonsexual affectionate relationships with other men, it is notable that at least two of these interventions involve healthy relationship development with men. In addition, participants perceived the two most helpful techniques to be understanding better the causes of one's homosexuality and one's emotional needs and issues and developing nonsexual relationships with other men.

So there you have it: Rekers was engaging in an affectionate, non-sexual "retreat" with "Lucien."

Just don't forget in the shadow of this recent hypocritical religious straight scandal about how sacred straight marriage is, and how it's not all about the financial incentives that make it so financially lucrative amongst the straight lovers of money, adultery and high divorce rates.

I bet the marriage rates would plummet if you took away all the financial incentives most straights really use to rationalize being married in the first place. It's a well documented fact most people get married for financial reasons, not religious ones. The only time marriage is really about the kids, is when it involves a sizable tax deduction, insurance benefits, inheritance or to carry a common family name.

LOL! Evidently the line of thought goes something like this:
1) I am a righteous man.
2) Homosexuality is a sin, so obviously I am not homosexual.
3) Since I am not homosexual, I obviously cannot have homosexual sex.
4) Therefore if I hire a young boy to bang my butt for the weekend, it's not sex.

It's a variation of the Clinton defense. I did not have sex. The young man I hired to "carry my luggage" might have had sex, but not in front of me. (Which might be literally true anyway.) Regardless, exposing hypocrisy is always a good thing.

Now that I see what he looks like...

It's clear that his only avenue for sex was an escort service.

What you said. I agree. The left has used this type of sorcery many times . In there pursuite of real magic. But magic shall never come to one who lacks faith. So they turn to sorcery. Which is only illusion. If your base is Godless and morality be dammed and socialisn is the light you seek . Your mantle is sorcery which is the cloak of their deception.

Lets get into what goes on in the house ya live in , certainly it was not a home but a empty house lacking leadership and learning which was left to those with an agenda.

Much like the Chinas Olympic games banning the bible and allowing the Quran . It was a move only to cause further decay and was meant to divide even further

I dunno. The whole thing may be as described on the NARTH website- stranger things have happened.

Lucien will, I suspect, be selling his version of the story for a tidy sum in the not too distant future, so we'll see what he has to say. He is a whore, after all...

As for hypocrisy, it abounds... What there is on the Left doesn't seem to exist within the context of smug self-righteous religiosity all too common on the Right...

I don't know...reading this thread it looks to me like smug self-righteousness is not so uncommon on the Left as well.

Is it hypocrisy for a white person to support affirmative action? Is it hypocrisy for a homosexual to be against gay marriage? Is it hypocritical for the Forum Director &
Omnipotent Overlord to post a thread in P&N without commentary? :p

My youngst brother is gay . I still love him. I do not respect or like him tho. What I am seeing from the left is that many seem to not be at eas with their sexuality. Meaning their thoughts often lean towards the same sex. The right is more confortable with their sexuality and therefore is comfortable with the reality that gays /lesbians are abnormals . Were the left pushes its agenda to the point they teach homosexuality is alright in the school system . The left pushes their agenda onto their children who no longer respect their parents . The left has done a good job of dividing.

As this year carries forward many many will backtrack . I say to you this . Back tracking will be useless. Your choices you have made. Their is no change of heart or mind going forward. You have brought destruction on yourselves. Or are you blind to whats happening around yourselves.

You love him but you don't like him?

Your next statements are so ridiculous that they don't even warrant commenting on.
