The Hurt Locker - did I see the wrong movie?

Watched the Hurt Locker with measured enthusiasm - I wasn't expecting the movie to change my life.. But I found it dull, repetitive (another bomb defusing scene.. Yay!), and oddly impersonal - I just didn't really care for the characters or the plot (or lack of) one bit... Am I alone here?

I'm personally rooting for A Serious Man, Up in the Air, Up, and Avatar - I like all kinds of movies and didn't expect THL to be either high art or an action movie. I was just ... Bored..

Agreed. I didn't really see anything special in the movie. The entire sniper scene just made no sense whatsoever.

The sniper scene was awful.

Overall it was ok, but far from as good as I'd heard.
