Don't mean to sound like an ass (I know we have a few Comic Book Guys in here) but I have lost interest in almost all comic-book-to-film adaptations. I did like Batman Begins and the first two Spidey movies even though I had never read the comics. Why? Because they were, IMO, good movies.
As for the rest, I think I've become jaded. It's not the genre that bothers me - it's the lack of new source material. How about a superhero movie that is not based on an existing Marvel/DC series?
See...although I am one of those Comic Book Guys, I agree. Hollyweird loves dollars and they see comics as the biggest no-brainer cash cow since musicals in 50s. After the first batman, they slowly made budget space for one adaptation a year and many of them were not good. (hello, Punisher?)
Now this year, we have what five or six? it's a glut and I think people are going to be burnt-out. Plus the way stars and their egos make demands, we will be stuck with someone's ego trip wanting to act out their favorite comic book character.
I think this Hulk movie looks like and will be a CGI f%^&k-up put to a Hulk TV series episode.
