I don't know anything about real estate or economics, but according to my internet, it already has burst ... about a month ago, in fact.

I don't think people are aware of this bust and are still trying to sell their houses for huge profits.

I doubt prices will actually fall when they are averages across the nation. I think the market will 'stall' instead of burst.

It's funny how the majority of proclamations of a housing crash are by those who want to buy houses on the cheap...

I need to put this out in a newsletter.

In my area 300K buys you a crappy house. That's rediculous. Normal families making 60k cannot afford these prices.

Investor driven markets are doomed to fail when the those investing realize they wont make a return higher then ING interest rates.

Bubble is still alive. Only thing that will pop the bubble is lack of liquidity. Right now it's still too cheap and easy to borrow to buy a home. Until that changes, bubble stays IMO.

Stock market bubble was popped by rising rates and new margin rule regulation. You take the cheap and easy money away from the housing market and the same fate will occur.

i slightly agree...however i think people are aware that the housing market isn't as strong as it used to be, but they are not willing to bring down the prices just yet...... there is guna be a period (several years) for the prices to come down to match the downturn in the market... in my non-expert opinion
