Are they the ones with the Lego video, because if so I can't stand them. Maybe it just needs some time to grow on me as well.

Are the Hives the ones dressed up like the Beatles and they are yelling and sh!t while lightning is going off in the background? If so, I don't like them either.

The Hives have been around for years. If you notice, their "current" release is 2 years old. They're great.

And I'm with Mucman (big shock) Nobody had better be dissin' the 'Stripes.

I hate that band so much. I am so tired of this like "crap garage band" revival that's going on. Look at the white stripes, I could seriously write a better song if I was legally retarded. The music was never good in the first place, now it's coming back and people are like wow, a new trend, let's follow it.

Mucman: it's very surprising hearing that come from a Rush fan, since that music is very talented and then you can listen to the white stripes and consider the drummer a goddess..

CorporateRecreation - lol, I have an eclectic music taste :). She is a goddess because she looks so cuuute when banging those drums :D. I agree she is no Neil Peart, heck I could probably play like her with a weeks worth of lessons... Yes the White Stripes don't write complex music, but I dig it for some reason. If it's fad now, it's news to me... As you can tell I am fumbling about trying to rationalize my decision for liking them, but I can't really give you a concrete explanation :)

and since you dissed Meg, I must beat you up now :)

My Music Collection <--- check this out, there's probably lots you agree and diagree with :)

When hasn't there been bands coming out that sound the same as the rest? Incubus rip-offs are now coming out and soon there will be
System of a Down rip-offs. I am surprised there are no Tool ripoffs out there! Of course there are many Rush influenced bands but I've yet to hear one that sounds just like em (closest being Fates Warning).

the hives are really old though.. they've been playing together for almost 10 years now. I think that sound is just getting popular though, so all these bands are getting airtime.

True... Although I prefer seeing bands that have been working hard get rewarded. I find it odd seeing a bands first CD go big just because they latched onto a popular genre and had a powerful marketing engine behind them. The White Stripes have 3 albums out too...

I got their album from emusic. Sounds like the White Stripes to me. I don't like either band.

I like the stripes better than the hives .... they're both good and everything but it's the kind of music that gets old fast. Not like really good bands that only grow on you and grow on you and grow on you ...

They are an annual to use the gardening analogy, vs a perrenial, something that you can listen to for years.
