"The Hitcher" remake

Is anyone going to watch it in theaters? For me, it's a rental type movie. It's another pointless remake.

The original has C. Thomas Howell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Rutger Hauer (as the killer). Based on the previews I saw of the remake they definitely changed the role a bit for the girl. I was very young when I saw the original but one scene left a permanent mental mark for me. In the original, the killer tied the girl between a trailer and the semi, reving up the engine to pull her. He gives Howell one opportunity to kill him. Howell didn't have the guts to so the girl gets pulled in half. You only get a brief glympse of the gruesome scene, but being so young it really horrified me.

To those going to see the remake please comment about the difference especially about this scene.
