...can officially go fuck itself.

Today, on Memorial Day, they are showing a Pawn Stars Marathon.

What a load of garbage.

That is all.

methinks they lost the rights to broadcast BoB, which they used to present in its entirety every Memorial Day.

By the way, you can watch BoB on SPIKE TV (WTF?) today, if you wish.

and yeah, I've long since written off the History channel, anyway. They officially joined the ranks of the Discovery Channel and AMC in terms of worthless, non-representative crap productions. Soon to join: Food Network (rise of Rachel Ray, Sandra Lee and their ilk, open and publicized rejections of real chefs, real educational cooking, and open acceptance of budget-style, non-gourmet methods as primary content.)

Anyhoo, don't mean to bitch about worthless TV, today. lol.

I currently have a 5 lb. hunk of pork smoking, case of beers chilling, people coming over later today to honor our brave soldiers that made the ultimate sacrifice such that I we could enjoy our smoked meats and beer.

I also queued up about 10 military documentaries in Netflix instant--just watched the 2008 PBS Medal of Honor recipient documentary--13 MoH stories.

awesome.

Tibor Rubin. This guy's life, added to his MoH citation--simply amazing:

Watch The Military Channel instead, it is one of the few channels on which I adore just about every program.

I only like the sister stations of the History Channel, such as International History or Military History - at least those two channels show the stuff the History Channel used to show.

Yeah, as others have mentioned, The History Channel sucks. A few years ago, it seemed that they would have several shows per week that I absolutely had to watch. These days, I would probably have to search for a couple of months to find good shows to watch on THC. Everything has degenerated into crap like Ax Men, Ice Road Truckers, and Pawn Stars. TLC started the trend several years ago, Discovery followed, and THC is the latest victim.

lol, I thought the same thing when I turned the channel on during my lunch break (I flip between the news and History Channel). I talked shit about Pawn Stars before in a thread here (and American Pickers) but they're growing on me. I dunno why; I love history but there's only a few parts in each program I find interesting I guess.

I agree they should show military history/honors, at least for today, jeez. I've been watching Ken Burns' "The War" on Netflix instant, what a great series. I'll watch an episode or two tonight and toast a beer.

do not get it :(

digital basic + HD package with Comcast (non "premium" means missing 2 or 3 HD channels (on top of the HD movie channels, naturally))

Just one of the reasons why I gave up entirely on cable/satellite tv. It's simply not worth the monthly fee.

Go here and complain about it. I just sent in a complaint, their programming is getting ridiculous.

Thanks, done.

I remember when my parents got cable. History was awesome, SciFi showed great Anime and movies constantly. Discovery constantly had great shows on.

Now they've all devolved into this knuckle-dragging trash. It's quite sad when History Channel vies to compete for the same demographic of Bravo.
