The hell?!

Ok this is totally weird. I got my receiver in the mail - paid a store by the name of Federal Stereo $750 for it. So i unpacked it and took out the invoice. Says $600. Invoice was issued for my name/addresss, but by a totally different store in a different state. So what the hell did these guys do? Charge me $750 and then paid $600 to some other store to send it to me? The receiver looks new, but the little plastic bag that had the manual and batteries in it was held together by a strip of paper tape. Weird, huh?

They probably aren't an authorized reseller...it's "second hand": brand new but without a warranty.

Dammit i didn't realise only produces purchased at authorized dealers had warranty. I'll call the real store tomorrow and ask about that. As for sending it back, it's $50USD shipping back, another $50 to ship the new one plus 15% tax on the border so no thanks

Crutchfield has this receiver on sale for $999 from $1199, so if you got it for $750, you should realize it's probably grey market. Be happy it was even delivered.

Holy crap, people actually fall for that stuff? 1199 is the list price, NO ONE sells it for that high. Or for $999 for that matter. Look here.
