The whole dispute is silly. Its a fscking rock in the middle of nowhere.

Just split it in half and be done with it.

the rest of the border (and one would assume, all the commercial rights on each side of it) is set (according to that map in Wiki), just Hans island. And a small rock cannot possibly contain so much resources that it would justify all this sillyness

Han's Island was the original name for Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon, and he hated it. He refused to show up for shooting until the studio agreed to his movie name, and other script changes.
