Anyone see this? I watched last night and was a little disappointed. I think I laughed twice. The funniest joke was the report on how the democrat's approval of obama dropped to an all time low of 99.9% when they found out about his cocaine use. even that piece only generated a slight chuckle.

Although it wasn't that funny, can't judge based on the first ep alone, so let's see how it lasts.

I hear the show is so bad, they need to use a laugh track.

I think the problem is that they're too direct and obvious, whereas the daily show uses subtleness and irony to make the point funny.

And it seems like it's purely political, as in the politics is the main focus of the show rather than comedy.

Conservatives attempting humour always seem to go that way. It's as if any hint of fault/weakness on their side is seen as loss/defeat. I'm being stereotypical of course, but "conservatives" seem to not understand the subtleties of humour like a John Stewart does. They usually come off as meanspirited and somewhat unlikeable.

Appears to me Fox did it to make a statement. Still waiting to figuring out what that is.

It's a simple statement, consistant with their simple minds:

They can screw up an immitation of Comedy Central's "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report" as well as they screw up their immitation of real news shows.

That's worth at least one minor laugh before it gets too stale to bother remembering.

Eve the title is unoriginal.

Wasn't there a show on HBO years ago called the Half Hour Comedy Hour?

I haven't had a TV in two weeks so I have no idea what this show is about but this is a book that I'm willing to judge by its cover.

God I miss my TV.............................................................................

The reviews are not kind.

""Weekend Update" on its worst night isn't this bad."

"If you're the least talented member in your second-rate college sketch comedy group, don't worry. One day, you could host a Daily Show rip-off on Fox News Channel!"

"You couldn't skewer a cube of tofu with material this dull."

"It's even worse than anyone imagined. "

The show was a pile of crap

Yeah.... The problem is they're doing it to be a "conservative" Daily Show, but The Daily Show doesn't really try to be anything other than comedy show about politics. That is, it may ultimately lean one way, but it's not like it tries to do that.

The reason why this fails is the reason why Air America failed.

Conservatives are bad at comedy, Liberals are bad at being huge blowhards with nothing substantial to say.

Daily Show has an anti-stupid bias... not an anti-conservative bias. Just so happens most of the news stories they touch on deal with the stupidities of the republican leadership.

Let?s face the facts that it is a lot harder to make fun of a lot of the left.
For one thing make the wrong joke and get attacks for being a racist, homophobe or bigot.
But it is real easy to make fun of much of the right because they are seen as ?sticks in the mud? on so many issues.
Gays? Just drag out some crazy ass gay people are going to hell preacher and make fun of him, easy.
Evolution? Again to easy, just find someone who says dinosaurs and man were living together.

Let?s also not forget that making fun of the left would not be PC, but making fun of the right is perfectly fine.

That's not a right/left issue.

ALso, I am really shocked at all the bad reviews here. Given the fact this is a very left leaning website and all! You guys have always hated Fox News and now you have even more reason to.

From what I saw I thought this show was hillarious. Playing on all of the liberals worst nightmares. IE - Rush is Pres and Anne Coulter is VP.

Then pick it up and discuss it in your original thread. I asked and you never responded.

With all the time you spend labeling people you could be researching America's past that "you conservatives" like to rewrite / not believe existed.
