I recently purchased this DVB burner, after reading Tom's review, and am waiting for its arrival. I was wondering:::

What media have you found most reliable and quickest for burning/copying other DVDs?

Also, what software is best for copying other DVDs???

I am new to this. So, my lingo is not up to speed (write, rip, etc...). Any other useful tips on this burner would be helpful...

Any help is much appreciated. Thank you.
 
I've had great success with Memorex 4x +R media, don't buy the 4x -R version because apparently they are made by another manufacturer (CMC rather than Ricoh) and many people over at DVDRHelp.com have only had bad experience with them. With the latest firmware version (A301), Princo 4x -R discs now burn at 4x, previously they'd burn only at 2x speeds. Of course, Ritek discs (G03 or G04) are generally considered excellent.

I wanted some simple-to-use software to backup my DVDs. For that reason I use DVDShrink 2.3 to rip only the parts of the DVD that I want and CloneDVD (not the latest version, mind you) to compress and burn the DVDs.
