The Greatness of America....

I get the feeling that some of the more conservative members on this board think that people like myself consider America a great evil and nothing more. Well, that being said, I would like to say one thing. America is the best god damn country in the world!!! Why? We have given more to other countries in the form of money and aid than any other country could dream of. We've stopped some pretty bad sh!t from taking over the world, and I still believe that we have the greatest democratic system in the world. Free speech? Can't beat it. But with us being the greatest and most powerful comes the greatest responsibility, and that is where people like myself come in. If we do not question authority, a lot of harmful things can happen even in the name of good. I hope everyone can see that. What it basically comes down to is that even though no one is perfect, we need to settle our differences to achieve those ideals set forth by our forefathers: Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

Good Call. I just don't know what to say about the US or the world for that matter. It's obvious that there are people and whole countries that don't care for the politics that our government is made up of... So what are we and they, for that matter, supposed to do. There are too many factors for us to attempt to control everyone...I think the war on terrorism is a joke. It's a good excuse to clean up the other countries, but it's also a good way for the US to overstep its bounds and get us all in some deep trouble with foreign policy.

I agree, America is the only country where you can enter with nothing and become something. I've seen it first hand with my own parents.
