The question was answered. The "Greatest Song" referred to in Tribute was played spontaneously by Tenacious D and subsequently forgotten by them. It does not refer to any actual real song.

Yeah its supposed to be Stairway based on the live version. They even play the solo from Stairway, the exact solo not even a similar one.
