I was ratting out my Visiontek Geforce 3 tonight to see what it could do.
Here are my results using 3dMark2k1: (BTW I have stock cooling on the board + a Card Cooler blowing on the board)
Core/Memory/ 3dMarks
200/460(stock)/ 5247
215/520/ 5500
230/540/ 5598
235/555/ 5693
245/560/ 5752
250(max)/560/ 5770
250/565/ 5791
250/570/ 5809
250/575(max)/ Hung (on the bump map test)
Of course, I took several baby steps as I ran the benchmarks. Bench marks were run on default setting (1024x768; 32-bit; compressed textures; D3D; Pure Hardware T&L). My rig is good but nothing super special. CPU is not overclocked (this is an HP Pavilion).
There was never any artifacting, snowing, screwy polygons, or bad textures. It ran like a dream until the last bench. I have to say -- I feel like (1) I got a great GPU, and (2) Card Coolers are pretty sick.
I will run a loop at 250/570 to see if it is truly stable. But I do not plan to run games at that speed (there really is no need to OC a GF3 -- at least none right now). But its nice to know what this card is capable of.
Go Visiontek, go Card Cooler.
Edit: I am running the lastest ver. of Via 4in1 (minus the AGP); AMD's AGP Miniport driver; Detonator 12.90 (beta); and DirectX 8.0a
