The Greatest Computer-Related Debates throughout History?

I thought it a fitting thread since so much debating goes on in the forums. What I came up with...

  • Atari 2600 vs. Intellivison (Early 80's)
  • Commodore 64 vs. Apple IIe vs. IBM PC (80's)
  • Amiga vs. Atari ST (late 80's)
  • Microsoft Word vs. WordPerfect (late 80's and on)
  • AMD vs. Intel (mid 90's and on)
  • Mac vs. PC (mid 80's and on)
  • RISC vs. CISC (late 80's - mid 90's?)
  • IE vs. Netscape (late 90's - 2000)
  • Open Source vs. Closed (forever)
  • RDRAM vs. SDRAM/DDR/the world (2000 and on)
  • SCSI vs. IDE (forever)

List any and all others you can think of. I'm sure of the gaming boxes like Nintendo and Playstation should be in the list, but I don't know enough about them. Probably should be some game debates as well...Quake vs. ???

My vote for the biggest of all time would have to go to "Mac vs. PC".

Here's some more:

Linux vs. Windows

Bill Gates vs. Linus Torvalds

Torvalds vs. Tannenbaum (AKA Monolithic kernel vs Microkernel). You have to be a nerd to know about this one)

NVIDIA vs. 3dfx/Ati

Sun Microsystems vs. Microsoft

Oracle vs. Microsoft

DOJ vs. Microsoft
