The great thing about buying that warranty...

I bought an elliptical trainer about a year and a half ago - a ProForm C630. Like any new piece of fitness gear, I had read numerous reviews of problems with the product, but being so darn cheap at the time ($200) I had to buy one. When the sales clerk at Sports Authority offered warranty I was definitely hesitant, and my brother couldn't stop telling me that $40 for warranty was a complete waste of money. Nonetheless, it was one of the few times I gave in.

So today after ellipticaling about three miles, the sucker finally broke as the entire wheel came falling out. Since the product is clearly not made anymore (I bought it as a close-out item) Sports Authority gave me no other option but to send a reimbursement and "do what ever with the broken product that you would like." All of this without even seeing the thing. What's funny is for all this guy on the phone knows, the thing is still working perfectly fine and I just got my money back for it anyway!

So here I am, about to move, and the last thing I wanted to do is carry this old piece of fitness crap to my next home, and luckily enough, I don't have to! The way I see it, I just rented my own personal elliptical for a mere $40!
