OldSpice is alright I guess, but I don't really use it. It was a gift back when my age started with a #1. I sometimes put some on in the winter for work so I can get rid of it, but I'm afraid it would draw bugs in the summer.

That explains the stench in here...:p
I use the flat part of a hairbrush handle to force the stuff in the bottom of the tube up to the top.
I have a small beard comb that has an angled handle. I hold the comb part and use the angled handle to squeeze the toothpaste up to the cap.

I have a Kitchenaid can opener with a large plastic handle like that, which I use as a manual backup for my electric opener. Sooooo much nicer than the old metal-handle ones, those KILLED my carpal lol.

We gave away two of our old (from 1975) swing a way can openers and replaced them with two of these:
Cut through the seal, not the can. No sharp edges, no bits of steel in the can.

Rubber mallet. You will still hit your finger/thumb/forehead, but it is slightly less painful than the steel hammer.

Thanks to recent advances in technology, you can now buy a freeze-dryer at home for a few thousand dollars. I've got one on my wishlist lol. Really cool for convenience & preparedness purposes! I plan on getting one...someday haha:

The food lasts up to 25 years:

Stats are:

* Freeze dry 2,500 pounds of fresh food per year
* That's 12-16 pounds per batch
* In a year's time, you can freeze dry 546 gallons of food

Is this thing cold chain approved? (does it freeze veggies at proper drop temperature to prevent vitamin loss?)

I consider canned potatoes cold with black pepper a perfectly fine snack.

while i'm not the canned food enthusiast that you are, I am quite fond of Lidl canned New Potatoes. so much so that a few years ago, months before pandemic happened, I waltzed into the store and bought a pallet. At just under $0.50 per can, I thought it a damn steal.

But I don't eat them cold. I usually sautee with butter and enrich with their own starchy juice from the can, and some seasoning.

Oh my own contribution as I haven't seen a peeler posted yet, but these:

They are the best peelers you can get, last a very long time and even if you are a heavy user like a professional chef and need a new one every week, they are usually less than a buck at any supply store. Maybe even cheaper?

of course you can use the back of a knife for your carrots or a proper paring knife for most everything else, which is certainly fine if your skills are serious, but these are idiot proof, safe, and save blade life for mere pennies in comparison.

We gave away two of our old (from 1975) swing a way can openers and replaced them with two of these:
Swing-A-Way! Our last one left something to be desired, developed a sprung hinge and bent arm, that was never to be made right again after multiple attempts. It was about 20 years old. I bought a $10 Farberware that broke within six months, Farberware sent a replacement and it was a factory mistake. The gear pieces were assembled wrong (flipped around compared with the one being replaced), it slipped unless I squeezed the handle using Most Superior GI Joe Kung Fu grip. Contacted Farberware again and they upgraded me to a much beefier KitchenAid (same parent company at the time) that cost twice as much.

When I first bought my house I went through so many can openers until I found a Swing-a-way on Amazon. Most of the can openers that try to be fancy by opening the can in some weird way are just crap, they break after a short while.

My contribution is the Creative Zen Mozaic MP3 player series. Been using them for so many years that I don't know how long. Sounds great through earphones, has a speaker, and the batteries seem to hold up for years if not decades. During power outages or at the cabin I plug an 8 inch guitar amp speaker into the headphone jack and it pumps out just fine. Tried a newer MP3 player the same way and it won't push it. I've put in some 15 hour days plowing snow or road construction and they'll do it fine. I have a couple so I don't get too bored with whats on them. I should go on ebay and buy another for the next 20 years.
