The Great Internet Job Search expands to ATOT

I am a graduating law student from the University of Houston Law Center. Due to the recent economic implosion in the Houston area (due to Enron, Compaq, and the crappy economy in general), I have been forced to expand my job search to ATOT.

I know this is pathetic, but it seems somewhat less pathetic than some of the desparate crys for attention that I see here on a dialy basis (i.e. the countless "I just riced out my Ford Escort" threads).

My resume will be up after I get out of class (U.S. Export Regulation).

I'm not proud, and I am definitely willing to work outside of the legal profession. :D

this really isnt a great place to look for work, you should try cold calling thHR departments of law firms in major cities like LA, New York, Chicago, etc. See if they have openings.

This is more of a last ditch desparate cry for help than anything else. :) Very few of us 3L's have jobs, and I figured that someone might be lurking around here willing to give a fat kid a chance. :D

You can never tell. Porn actresses get "discovered" in strange places, so why not lawyers? ;)

Hmm.. come to think of it. Ever considered OJT's with some law firms until you gain more experience?

An acquaintance of mine did the same thing, the moment she got out of college her salary pretty much tripled to the 6 digits. On her first case (which was mostly just helping with research as a junior) which they won, she was awarded an Audi TT just like *snap* that.

I don't know much about the law profession, but I've seen alot of job ads looking for entry level paralegals (or something like that) on monster.com and monsterTrak...you might want to check it out!

Those job boards are okay but i noticed lately (past several months) all these people just post jobs inorder to gather more resume's for their database.

This is great, you know all the loopholes of business law, and can start exploiting those :)

Good Luck!!

OJT = On the Job Training, otherwise known as Internships :) Sorry for the confusion.
