I dunno about clicking on a link to "see if it's blocked in China." Half the spam and more than half of the attacks come from there these days.

Clicking a link would be like saying "Hey I'm a tech-savvy person that found this link on a geek website. I have a broadband connection! Record my IP address and repeatedly attempt to take over my system for nefarious purposes."
