I can't go wrong with selecting December 24, 2000.... Although I'm sure my Dualeron 550 will be munching grass for someone else for one day. :)

DAM--Sorry, Networkman already has December 7th, see his reply earlier in this thread.

Train--I don't think you need to worry too much about people holding back to dump... It's almost impossible for anybody to be able to influence when we actually pass /. by holding back for a dump, unless they already had a HUGE herd.

Current dates taken: see list at top of thread

Put me down for September 22. I can stand to lose 1000 blocks :)

BTW: Great idea this thanx Xede... just added a whole lot of fun to this thing and that's what it's all about isn't it? :D

Now that OGR is here does this contest change?

Questions:

1. It is not clear in the rules if "passing /." is the total of all DNet contests or just RC5. Which is the case? If DNet does not provide a total stats page of combined contests how will this be judged?

2. What happens if some/all of the Phantom Flushers blocks are taken back if DNet finds them bogus?

I don't think OGR will really change the contest much. We do still plan to trample /., right?? We won't be the only ones who might lose some power to OGR--so will /.

As clarified in the rules, this contest is about passing /. in the overall rankings on distributed.net RC5-64. Not in combined projects.

It seems unlikely that PhF flusher blocks could be revoked, but whatever, if anything, happens with the PhF should just be considered part of the suspense in this contest.

I just changed the ini settings on every cow to RC5,ORG,DES,CSC and I am now cracking RC5 AND ORG.That has to reduce my RC5 stats by default. What in the hell is going on? I know I can change all but RC5 to xxx=0 but why? We need some direction here if we are a team. It's beginning to look like the opposition is in the huddle and calling the plays. Does the term DEVIDE and CONQUER apply here?

Tripleshot, go into config, and type 2-10(additional buffer level checking)-4, that should fix your problem.:)
