The biggest problem with the whole stupid idea of splitting the states into two countries is that basically, AT BEST, you'd end up with a huge red block in the center of the two coasts...but in reality, the country is made up with way too many "purple" counties to ever divide properly. What happens to the liberal democrats in places like Texas, or republicans in California? Do you force them to relocate?

So what is your other solution, since there will be people stuck in the smaller Confederacy, instead we should all be sacrificial lambs and let the GQP do what they clearly intend to do in the future, turn this whole country fascist.

It sucks. But what else do you propose?

There is no other option. Empires fall to tyranny all the time. The average age of most empires is about 250 years, I believe we'll hit that in 2026.

It won't "fall" or collapse in that sense of the word, but think of something along the lines of Russia, Belarus, Hungary, etc.

I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

I took this oath and still consider myself bound by that oath.

The USMC and DOD didn't release me from that promise when I mustered out in 1973...so, AFAIC, it still applies today.

Same here even though I quit before I lost my hold on the monster inside me.

Encourage them to evacuate but just like Afghanistan.. you can't force them if they don't want to move.

I'm sure some will stay but most will not.

But look at Greece and Turkey, India and Pakistan, Sudan and South Sudan.. there have been countries split before.

So for the actions of a handful of degenerate retarded criminals...

NO TRUE SCOTSMAN!

Indeed, just a handful. And an entire political party standing behind them in support and solidarity. Would the real Republicans please stand up? @pcgeek11 seems to think you exist.

Of course you are innocent. And everyone you know? Why, the whole Republican Party is innocent! Just some rabble rousers besmirching your good name. Yes... the good name of those who voted for a creature like Trump. That action speaks louder than words feigning ignorance. Republicans and their voters, ALL, know damn well what they supported. What they allowed into the White House. What they doubled down on and continued to support for 5 long years. What they continue to support to this day.

Go ahead and tell us the election was NOT stolen. That you do not want Republican violence to end our Democracy.

Now go find us a Republican who will stand with you. And shout down those vying for a violent end. Do "true" Republicans hold the majority, do you think?
*crickets... that's what I hear. The silence from your true Republicans is deafening.

What are you implying?

That all of the conservative states are enemies of the United States? If so then you also need some therapy.
I'm not really implying anything, the oath is pretty clear. All enemies, foreign and domestic. I'm just responding to what you said about not killing citizens, regardless of beliefs.

PS: And we do have a fairly clear idea of what you support, your coy little games aren't that difficult to decipher.

I wish I could uphold my oath but that would cause me to end up in jail.

We all know the insane asylum the Repubs are running have the inmates running the place, while the administrators therein and the relatives of thereof are cheering them on and prodding them into fits of rage and mindless acts of violence.

And then along comes Trump telling these mentally crippled idiots that they are just fine and mentally fit and that they are the true patriots of the land and they should take back the freedoms they lost from being cast out of society because they were a danger to themselves as well as anyone within their reach.

Trump let those fuckers out and gave them his blessing and immoral support so as to help him create the authoritarian form of gov't he had to have in order to stay in power.

This is where we're at in our nation's historical timeline, an event horizon of sorts, a critical point in time where the possibility exists of having a minority party seize power through acts of treason, deception and the will to abandon any semblance of what was heretofore a functioning democracy and an example for other nations to follow,

I’ll defend pcgeek here, he was the only righty on this board (ok someonemind also said as much) that he didn’t support the insurrection and spoke directly against it. It’s why when I respond to him I do not call him a traitor. He may be a deplorable or a righty or whatever, a traitor he is not.

I don't think he is a traitor, he is just oblivious as to what the GQP stands for these days in regards to democracy.

As conservative David Frum recognized, if the Republicans can't win democratically, they won't abandon conservatism, they will abandon democracy.

It's clear as day they are already there.

He just supports the party that supports the insurrection. Much like the "I'm not racist, I just support racists" argument, to me these are attempts at meaningless distinction.

Btw, has any right-winger on this forum actually explicitly supported the insurrection?

It's time to end this experiment. Let us cut the cancer that is the South from the Union. Let the other red states join them, and move on.

Well.... democrats had better do something fast because splitting that country up into red and blue just might hand California over to the red side should the re-call succeed next week. If Larry Elder becomes the governor then you can kiss your blue ass goodbye. CA could become red, Trump red, Larry Elder red and you know what that means.... it means that once Larry Elder gets in there he and his republican cohorts will ensure in every way they can that CA will remain red FOREVER MORE.

Sure CA.... its fun to do recalls because people get caught up in political muscle flexing, the power of the people regardless of what that flexing might lead to. Like witnessing 9/11 in person, no one wanted to see those terrorist succeed however it was pretty cool eye candy when those buildings came crashing down. Kinda like Hollywood. Huge aircraft slamming into a building, massive fire and smoke, massive buildings smashing to the ground. The only problem was.... this was for real. Not some Hollywood stunt.

Well.... this re-call is real as well, it's not Hollywood or some board game of chance, and the result for California could be as tragic as was 9/11 should Larry Elder succeed. Good old CA could come crashing down in many ways. And everyone knows once you get an Anti-Vaxxer like Larry Elder in there, there will be death. Lots of death and lots of suffering.

I created a thread and gave them the opportunity to come out and voice their opposition, only two showed up. None of the usual suspects since, have even hinted at the disapproval of the insurrection.

Elder winning the recall (unlikely) would no more flip CA red than Kansas having a dem governor would flip it blue. CA has a 2:1 dem/rep registration differential. A repub governor would be stymied by the rest of the legislature for one year until he gets punted following the general.

The way I have calculated this is you have just over 50% of the GQP are either already fascists or proto fascists that would become brownshirts in a jiffy with just a bit of a nudge from their leaders. Polls support this. About another 25% just need a bit more prodding and they'd join them. The other 25%, who knows. I don't see too many GQP'ers with any integrity left, I mean you got Liz Cheney, Kinziger and a few I read about on the state or local level, like someone in Arizona that is just like come on, this whole audit shit is a fucking clown posse, that have the balls to speak up to the Trump fascist mob.

The Democrats, about 10% maybe up to 15% are nutty super woke mob crazies, but they just are so vocal and the media hypes them up so much, they are portrayed as much more than they are.

Seems a bunch of people are starting to think splitting up the country is a good idea.

Let's do it!

The red states won't last long without the blue states continuing to subsidize their tax free ways.
