The Goonies II

I was flipping channels and saw the Goonies on MTV. I was wondering why they were showing Goonies clips. It appears that Steven Spielberg has purchased the rights to a sequal that was written and they are ready to start pre-production as soon as WB approve it.

They'll have all the original cast and a whole new set of "Goonies" who call themselves the "Groonies" because Data's mispronunciation of the name.

It'll probably suck, but thought i'd tell you guys anyway.

'Big Goonie' is on Mancow frequently. I think he's a janitor there, but they put him on the air a lot. He was the retarded guy with the bad guys.

I will go on record saying a Goonies sequel will be stupid and a waste of everyone's time and money.

I'll agree. I think the only thing that "might" be going for it is the fact they waited so long for a sequal and they purchased the script from someone else. With that amount of time a good script might have come around, it's hard to say though.

Steven is tremendous director and with the right script it could be awesome. It's just so hard to see a sequal to such a great childhood memory.

Goonies 2 for NES sucked, maps were too confusing especially using the hammer to break open walls in closets.

Not saying he had to love it, but weird that he didn't even know of the movie. At least you've heard of it. He's a 29 year old male, surprising he's never heard of it, given that we were talking about Knight Rider and Dukes of Hazzard the other day.
