Oops...I hit the enter key when I was in the message title box

Here's the specs:

Markings on chip
P4 2.53GHz /512/522/1.525v

Anyone with a similar chip got any o'c info for me?

I'm going to go just a few 100mhz at a time, so I won't have final o'c numbers for a day or so.

Wish me luck! :)

HardWired (feeling good to get rid of that stinky 2.4 B0 :D

I've been out of the loop for awhile i guess and I've asked the question more than once....what does multi-vid mean?

I gotta go retail on these chips. My last 2.4b died after 3 months and had it been oem (tray) I'd have been SOL. I'm willing to get a few less MHz and spend a couple of more bucks to get that extended warranty. I don't have a couple of hundred to buy a new one every time I burn one up. ;)

I tell you what though. This SLK-900 rocks! I have a Panaflo 92mm on it (2850rpm, 56.8cfm),and it's running 28c idle and I threw some Prime95 at it..max load is 39c! That's at least 10 deg. cooler than what the stock Intel fan was giving me with the TIM removed and some ASII (I've still got some).

So I at least know heat won't be holding me back in my o'c endeavors. Speaking of that...time to bump it up :D

Please tell me...what does multi-vid refer to?

As for the cpu...I'm now testing Prime95 at 3.04GHz. That's a 160 fsb and the mem is running at 400MHz. The SLK-900 is still keeping it cool @ 39c full load.

Not without a couple of changes though. I bumped the vcore up to 1.550 and Prime95 would halt w/ 1 error after 15 min. or so. So I then changed the System Performance setting from Turbo to Optimal and still Prime95 would halt w/ 1 error after 15 min.. I've now got the voltage at 1.575 and she's past 60 min. in Torture test. I may have to bump the vcore accordingly now to get her any farther.

I've got real good mem (check my rig below). Afa the System Performance setting, the choices are Auto, Turbo and Optimal. Any help on what's usually the best for those settings for a high o'c? How about the Memory Turbo Timing setting? Choices are either Enable or Disable. Should that be set to Disable to help in o'cing?

I'll be happy w/ anything over 3HGz but I'd like to get to 3.1 and possibly 3.2, but I'll probably have to get the vcore closer to 1.6ish or over to get there. I just want to go as little as possible on the volts and make other adjustments as necessary. I've run this mem stable @ 435MHz on my 2.4b so I know that isn't what made it hiccup at the 3.04 level. What would be the max volts a P4 2.53b could take long term...reasonably speaking :)

I went past 1.7 (1.725 or even 1.750 I think) on my 2.4b and I'm afraid that's what may have killed her after 3 months.

Cool...that's a ton of info, thanks!

While not a multi-vid, so far so good @3.04 and 1.575. I'll try mid 1.6's tomorrow and see if I can't get to 3.1ish :)
