Just checking - you all know about shopgoodwill.com, right?

The good stuff that the stores get in their donation bins often never sees the shelves... because it goes straight to their Goodwill internet auctions. ;) If they think something is special or collectable enough, or if they think the target market is too small locally, off to the internet it goes!

You know you can actually say something is overpriced and they'll ask you what you think it's worth. At least the stores near me do that.

Depends on management. I did that a few times and they look at me like a creep. They feel the price is cheap anyway?

I don't support Goodwill, as they use disabled people as basically slave labor.

This I saw a piece on them paying a disabled person 10 cents an hour. Fcken terrible. I want to how much of the money helps out people versus how much goes to admin costs.

Not sure if you realize it or not, but the purpose of Goodwill stores isn't to make cheap goods available to people who can't afford nicer things - the purpose is to give jobs to disadvantaged people. Walmart can only have so many greeters.

Used to go to Goodwill all the time to look for vintage computer stuff, which I was big into collecting at the time. I was able to get some pretty cool things (like a scanner in the original box) but it went downhill shortly after....couldn't find anything.

I'm convinced a lot of people fill up cartloads of stuff just to resell on eBay.

Yeah they used to have Pdp-11s at the goodwills

Paying someone 50 cents an hour because they have poor vision, while the executive makes 2 million a year is exploitation. It is worst than Walmart.
