While that may be the silver lining, I think that we should be more interested in its successes rather than its failures. It must've been great to be alive during that space race for that reason...

anyways, the nuclear option is not and has never been on the table for a wide variety of reasons, ranging from risks to violating treaties.
maybe because of public opinion, but it's a good argument for more drilling on land.

What it does show is that you can regulate something up the ass but if those regulations are not enforced there is really no point to the regulations.
Few well enforced regulations will beat out over regulating an industry every day.
Same thing happened with the SEC.
OP, what do you base your premise that the public is interested in engineering on? What the cable news networks are reporting on?
Fuck you and everyone that looks like you. I know hundreds of people whose lives, 5+ generations of entire towns of fishermen, whose livelihood is almost sure to be annihilated. Already rapidly disappearing wetlands disappearing even faster. I can go on and on but you have probably already heard it.
No good has come of this. None.
there have been lots of discussions/contests about the best way to stop the oil flow.

Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it.
oh yeh... shrimp tacos at taco bell.
