The good thing about high gas prices....

Is that to get from point A to point B now takes 20 minutes instead of the usual 45+ mins.

I wonder how empty the freeways are going to be when gas hits $4.50+ this summer.

So in a way, we aren't paying for higher gas prices, we're paying for less poor people on the road. I like the cut of your jibe.

You actually noticed less traffic? Seems like more here but I think that has to do with the major interstate construction.

If that's the case, I'll make a call to OPEC tommorow to have them jack up the prices to $15+ a gallon so I can have the road to myself.

sounds good to me. maybe the poor masses will finally dump the car culture all together, and there will be vast mass transit for all. then sterile suburbs will be where the boring rich people live.

You know, some people have to get to work.

I have to pay for gas so I can get to work so I can not make enough money to buy a more fuel efficient car. It is a viscious cycle, one that I wish I could get out of.

So go DIAgasoline-fueledF.

Motorbike?

I'm actually going to start carpooling next week with my roomate. Even though it will take longer to get to work(its a bit out of each others way) it will half our gas costs. He will be saving $80/month and I will be saving $60. As the price goes up, so does our savings. He is actually changing his hours so we can carpool.

So I can believe there will be less people on the road if others are doing the same.

I've actually noticed fewer people on the roads here too. I don't mind that.

Maybe this will have a negative effect on the number of giant SUVs and trucks too.

I live in Oregon.

'Nuff said.

😛

Here in northern VA it seems like for every $.05 gas goes up in price, there are 10,000 more cars on I-95 during the commuting hours.
