The golf season starts tomorrow

is it just me or does golf take up too much of the year? the play constant tourneys until november or so. its worse than nascar! baseball takes too long and yet golf and nascar manage to go longer!

Happy Gilmore is only a movie. Golf isn't really THAT exciting...unless you're actually playing it.

Then again, I don't live in Texas either....I'm sure that would make a lot of things seeem exciting.

I live next to an 18 hole PGA approved golf course, (a very nice one) and this is really true.

Golf is year-round. When I played in the AJGA, there was never a week (let alone a month) where there wasn't a golf tournament. Same goes for the PGA Tour.

Actually it started last weekend with the Mercedes Championship. Although that was only open to winners from last year, this weekends tourny is the first full field tourny of the year.

Not quite... the PGA Tour season begins with the Mercedes Championship near the beginning of January, and ends with the TOUR Championship near the beginning of November.

The "silly season" events of November and December (ie. Shark Shootout, etc.) are not official PGA Tour events and do not count towards the PGA Tour money list.

Cliff Notes: PGA Tour runs from January to November.
