if you still have a ps3 hooked up, hot shots golf: out of bounds (part 5) is the best golf game out there. it's better than the 6th one they put out on ps3 imo (which was a port of the portable version on either vita or psp).

All this talk about golf games got to me.
I broke down and purchased this game just now(Hot Shots: Out of Bounds). The complete collection is $20 for PSN+ members which has all the DLC. I also tried PowerStar Golf on the XB1 (there's a trial version) and while it is sort of fun, Hot Shots looked like the better game. EVen though the online features is terminated and no longer functions, the demo was good.

oh wow hsg doesn't have the online stuff anymore? i actually really liked the online. they had tournaments that would run every 15 or so minutes, and you'd start to see the same people all the time on there as people started getting better and stuff.

hsg is REALLY big in japan (mina no golf is the title in japan). i really hope they make a ps4 one.

On the game's page it said as of October 2013 the online portions of the game will be discontinued.

The game has 3D support too which is kind of neat in a way but the brightness is kicked down a bit.

ah that sucks. part 6 isn't nearly as good imo, and i think a lot is cause it's clearly just a port of the portable version.

I'm starting to enjoy TGC more as I play. Once you get past how bad the graphics are, the actual gameplay isn't too terrible. The only problem is that they don't do a great job of allowing you to properly alter your swing speed. It seems to be solely based on the length of the backswing, but it's also a little tough to tell exactly how much effect a shortening of it will change the power.

Putting's also pretty hit-and-miss to pick up on, as their grid on the green is a little tougher to read than in PowerStar Golf (and I think part of it is that TGC has faster green break than PSG does).
