Why do guys like the Godfather so much? What's so great about it? I saw all three and I thought it was kinda cool to see how the mafia family worked and the evolution of the Michael. However, I wouldn't consider it in one of my top 10 favorite movies, a lot of people seem to think this movie/trilogy is one of the greatest.

I 've tried before to explain to people why The Godfather is a great movie but it is pretty much impossible. If you can't appreciate the beauty of the movie when you watch it, you won't understand why we like the movie so much.

A lot of other movies have many or all of those same traits, yet none are so popular as the Godfather.

i agree... i never really got what people have such a hardon about this movie for... it was good... ive seen better... and at times its really slow... i dont know.. i dont get it...

my roomy is a huge godfather person... he has yet to explain a reason other then "its an amazing movie"

i agree, i liked it but not on my favs list.
 
The Godfather (and Part II) is on such a higher plane than most movies made today. You watch it, and you just get it. My best friend is a HUGE Godfather fan. He played a prank on my (he put up a hello kitty shower curtain in my bathroom and did some other crap). I just simply popped my Godfather Part II DVD into my laptop and did a few screen catures. I printed them out, taped them together and slipped them under his door. He got the message...

The pictures are still posted on our refrigerator to this day:
