I got a fresh from RMA BBA 9800 Pro for $165 shipped out of the FS/FT forums. There are better deals to be had. ;)

It reminds me how I should of waited for the newer generation x800's or NV40's. Should of kept my GF4 instead of spending 300 dollars on a 9800 that could hardly run far cry with max details.

I've always been about best bang for the buck. Right now I just think that the 9800Pro is a sweet spot.

Well, after looking at its' performance in the VGA Roundup III, it looks like a good upgrade from a 5700u

How much better is a 9800xt over the 9800pro. I thought it was just a overclocked 9800p.

do they have different gpu's? How do you tell?

I can see alot of unsuspecting consumers to buy up 9800xt's thinking they are getting a x800p.
Easy mix up for dad, grandma or a young newb.

haha I could care less about the r350/360, as long as it's a 9800 pro and it overclocks, I think i'm gonna look into this, the Sapphire model seems to be be steadily declining in price.

Why should I pay for a 9800xt when I can have a 9800pro with R360 core flash it and o/c it a bit further?
It's basically the same core clocked higher and better memory. (2.5ns Hynix)
Not sure I can follow through with the 3rd remark.

Of course even if it's the R350 core and he can't flash it,that's just fine. With a VGA silencer or a giant iii you can do wonders today... -)

I'm kinda shootin to sell it on ebay, get a higher price for it (hoping $140-150) I wanna make a big enoguh dent in the 9800 pro price with just the 5700u sale alone.

EDIT: hehe and yes, it's a good overclocker :)

In comparison to the 6800nu, its about the same. 200ish vs 300ish. Or u could compare them at a deal standpoint and ud have $180ish (seen a few before) vs $250ish (buy.com)

Buying a 9800P used in the FS/FT forum is where the sweetest deals are to be had. As I've said elsewhere, I got mine for $165 out of the forums, then I spent another $15 on a VGA Silencer. For $180 I have one kickass card. I think it's hard to beat that on a fps/$ scale today. :)

Edit to add: I just wish it had an R360 core so I could flash it to an XT.
