Well, I wouldn't say good riddance, it's sad and I wish it wouldn't have happened, but she let herself get into that situation. I guess she didn't have any real friends from her school to watch out for her either, and where were the chaperones?

Her safety net wasn't there and she wasn't wise enough to take care of herself.

No matter what is not the girls fault (other than wising up a bit). A person should not have to live worried about things others might do to them... This is not saying that they should be 100% careless, but sometimes your plans and those of others are very different... unfortunately for her.

"good riddance"??? - Jesus, folks.. can any of us say we didn't do plenty of stupid sh*t when we were a kid?? I know most around here aren't over the age or 20 or so but at 37 I can look back and see lots of bad calls that could have gone south but luckily didn't. - If she did do what's being said the girl screwed-up for sure but to just blow her off w/ the attitude of "she deserves what she gets!" is just heartless. Keep in mind, there are a 2 parents and plenty of family who are going through a living hell right now hoping against all odds that "their baby" is ok. Unfortunately they're prolly in for the disappointment of a lifetime.

You have to realize sometimes things get slipped into ones drink and they have no idea wtf they are doing.

Her friends and chaperones should have been there to protect her however.

I heard a bunch of the chaperones left on a private jet before the kids did?

wtf kind of highschool trip is this?

Probably not many. How many minorities are a member of a school district that can send kids off to an exoctic locale to celebrate graduation?

Thanks ntdz. Now I'll have to ask; why would an 18 year old person have a chaparone? She can vote, drink, drive, join the marines, etc. A chaparone? Any way... a most unfortunate story.

I'm not too sure why there are 15+ FBI agent in Aruba "helping" with the case. If this happened in Siberia, I don't think they would be there "helping."

they are not helping the girl, they are helping Aruba.

This is most likely a scripted play out of the playbook negotiated between Aruba and the US on how to deal with bad situations.

Umm... These weren't peeps s/h never met before.

News reports she had been hanging around with the guy(s) for several days. Particularly the Dutch kid who's father is a high Aruban Gov official.

From what I've read, the problem wasn't the "3 guys" she rode in the car with, but some "security guard" waiting outside the hotel where she was staying...? Or is my info out of date?

As for Darwinism... well no I don't think so, it wasn't purely bad judgement going on here, but a situation over which she had little or no control PLUS her bad judgement that led to her disappearance.

Very sad.. as a parent I can say I'd never recover from such an event.
