Hey.......if GM can find enough idiots to buy their junk.......kudos to 'em.

GM's got about 5 years of doing what Toyota/Honda did in the 90's to prove themselves worthy to me again.

Already worthy.

What the eff is that? A munged about Opel Vectra? You can keep it.

Dude what the hell, why the hell do American cars keep getting cheesier by the month?

Is it like my parents old malibu that the engine started to actually fall out of after 4 years?

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!

And just like the Aurora or Fusion (still can't figure out what Ford owners are gonna do after they get over the AWD part of that car & the thing starts falling to pieces)...........Ford/GM/Chrysler have a loooooooooooooooooooooooong way to go to PROVE themselves to me!!

The American public has gotten so short-sighted that even the J.D. Power *INITIAL* quality studies aren't short-term enough.

The olds Aurora? They don't make those anymore, but a friend's parents have one of those that has over 160K on it and it is fine. Only issue they've had with it is the security chip in the key got dirty and sometimes wouldn't make connection so the car wouldn't start. Oh, and have you seen the bumper on those things? He hit 2 deer with it - one right after the other in a row - and the only damage to the car was a broken passenger mirror and a small crease in the hood. The bumper is some huge hunk of milled aluminum directly behind the plastic cover. I'd like to see a toyota or honda hit 2 deer like that and come out that clean 😛

Big efin deal! I hit a fat chick once with my Accord, my side mirror got a little scratch but that was it.

Ford Fusion is ranked as reliable as an Accord as per CR.

But of course, these websites are only trusted when they are aligned with your opinions.

Did you hit it at 40+ MPH though 😉

i've got a car that has an "unreliable" engine by most peoples opinions. its from the late 80's and it'll never tick, tap, or rod knock ever. 160k isnt a big deal when you take care of the damn thing.

People realized that there's no glory in buying boring vehicles which is why they went back to GM.

LOLERSKATES. 😉

Which fun GM cars are people in Latin America and Africa buying? The Suburban? The Aveo? Whoa! Those are WAY more fun than Corollas and Land Cruisers! This is like comparing rollercoasters to watching paint dry! No WONDER GM is doing so well.

/sarcasm

Something tells me this has more to do with functionality for the price than fun. I don't see much market for the Corvette abroad. I can MAYBE see a few Corvettes being sold in the Middle East, but even then the market will lean toward German and Italian makes for "fun" cars. A Corvette won't carry much street cred for a region that doesn't have the highest regard for America.

I expect these two companies to flip-flop for a while before one pulls ahead.

What do you mean by "actually fall out of"?? Did a motor mount break?

Yeah, I think thats pretty much what started to happen according to the mechanic. Its been awhile and it wasn't my car, but I think their were 4 points that it was attached and two of them broke. That was really just the most ridicilous thing that happened with that car, it was far from the only one. I'm pretty sure they just traded that pile in right after that. I think I had less problems with my dodge neon then that thing.
That's it, no Malibu for me. I can't argue with hard facts like that. 🙁
