the general is back on top

Hey.......if GM can find enough idiots to buy their junk.......kudos to 'em.

GM's got about 5 years of doing what Toyota/Honda did in the 90's to prove themselves worthy to me again.

People realized that there's no glory in buying boring vehicles which is why they went back to GM.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!

And just like the Aurora or Fusion (still can't figure out what Ford owners are gonna do after they get over the AWD part of that car & the thing starts falling to pieces)...........Ford/GM/Chrysler have a loooooooooooooooooooooooong way to go to PROVE themselves to me!!

The American public has gotten so short-sighted that even the J.D. Power *INITIAL* quality studies aren't short-term enough.

I'd prefer they stay below Toyota for now. This keeps them from being the focus of scrutiny and allows them to better focus on getting their act together. Let Toyota continue to be the media's whipping boy.

It was a Pearl Harbor reference. 😉

What do you mean by "actually fall out of"?? Did a motor mount break? GM has done a lot
of work to make the current Malibu a decent car (I own one), and the '08 allready looks
like a winner with an improved engine (DOHC) and 6 speed tranny.

Should have linked to this,
http://www.pontiac.com/g8/

I don't like the Malibu at all, I think its sort of ugly at least from the front. The G8 is the winner of this gen, it's nicer looking and quicker.

Yeah, I think thats pretty much what started to happen according to the mechanic. Its been awhile and it wasn't my car, but I think their were 4 points that it was attached and two of them broke. That was really just the most ridicilous thing that happened with that car, it was far from the only one. I'm pretty sure they just traded that pile in right after that. I think I had less problems with my dodge neon then that thing.

The olds Aurora? They don't make those anymore, but a friend's parents have one of those that has over 160K on it and it is fine. Only issue they've had with it is the security chip in the key got dirty and sometimes wouldn't make connection so the car wouldn't start. Oh, and have you seen the bumper on those things? He hit 2 deer with it - one right after the other in a row - and the only damage to the car was a broken passenger mirror and a small crease in the hood. The bumper is some huge hunk of milled aluminum directly behind the plastic cover. I'd like to see a toyota or honda hit 2 deer like that and come out that clean 😛

Thats one of the problems with modern cars. Their safety is better, meaning the occupants are less likely to get serious injured in a crash...but every time you bump into something every body panel on the closet adjacent third of the car disintegrates and you get a $3000 repair bill.

Looks decent. Although, anything would be an improvement on pretty much every other car that carried the Malibu name in the last 30 years.
