So the garbage trash evil humans have spoken in America, and we now have a second Trump presidency.

What happened?
What happens next?

Will abortion be a first priority? Firing millions of federal employees and replacing them with many loyalists? Cutting billionaire's taxes?

I'm still trying to calculate this stuff.

The media is the biggest entity to be blamed for this happening. For years they have coddled Trump, not called out his lies directly and with force, sanewashed him, and both-sidesed the parties. They also did not report well on the fairy tales of the Trump economy nor how inflation was global and America recovered fastest, and so much more. The Democrats ran a very good campaign. It had some flaws but it was very good. There is solid criticism to be made. But overall - blame shitty people, and blame the media. It's not time to blame the Dems.

It's all laid out in Project 2025.
Definitely a big chunk of it is. But what will they actually push for, and how quickly, and in what order? No matter how efficient they are it still just can't happen all at once or even close to that.

Two biggest things I think will be installing as many judges as possible, and firing as many career public servants as possible

It's not really the media. Regular media was just powerless to counter ingrained, brainwashed propaganda.

It's the Republican Propaganda outlets, especially Fox News, that is that laid the groundwork for this for decades.

Fox (AKA Pravda) conditioned their captive audience to actively disbelieve any media that wasn't Fox, and Trump just dropped into the conditioned response, told whatever lies each group wanted to hear, and they couldn't be countered by traditional media, because that was fake news according to Trump/Pravda.

That and a lot of shitty, selfish, racist assholes.

I think Project 2025 lays out a timeline as well.

Democrats need a propaganda machine that constantly pumps put commercials once Trump takes over. Highlight

corruption
crimes
dead women because of healthcare access.
the deficits that will go up after his tax cuts for the rich.
Whenever he tries to enact something from P2025

Run those commercials constantly starting Feb 2025. Even if you have to fudge facts. It doesn't stop Republicans. Use social media cause ad buys are cheaper.

Since we don't have our own captive media outlet. Shit, those fucks have 3.

What happened?

Sometimes it's nice to read it from an outside source:

1. How's Middlesex county doing over in Jersey?? Harris +8 vs Biden +21 And only 66 mil voted for her.

I hate to tell you this but I did tell you.. she would lose worse than Biden and she did.. Even the Indians wouldn't vote for her because she's black.. (I'm not the asshole but there's plenty of them out there)

2. It's the price of eggs and gas stupid! People care more about their own situation and not the country.

3. We knew about this a year out: Gaza

4. Apathy: A lot of Americans just don't care about truth, justice, democracy and all that good stuff since it doesn't seem to effect positivity in their own lives. Only harped about J6 for 3 years and what happened??

5. not a bad article to read today (She's not Obama but tried running an Obama personality vibes campaign):

Infact a friend of mine said..

"I swear they lose these elections on purpose. A golden retriever would beat Trump. Heck a fucking senile old man beat him easily. They managed to select 2 massively dislikable strict headteacher type women as the candidate. Twice! They deserve everything they get since they fucked over Bernie Sanders in the 2016 primaries."

15 million people who voted for Biden in 2020 don't give a fuck, what makes you think 70 million three-time Trump voters give a shit?

Run a straight white man who is taller than the Republican candidate in 2028 and we might get a majority back. Tell me how I'm wrong.

As for what happens..

1. Media loves the ratings again with Trump being the TV POTUS
2. Tax cuts for the rich
3. DACA is the easiest to get rid of, since it's not even legislation.
4. Temp visa protections revoked.. deportations if he means business
5. Likely new legislation reducing immigration numbers going forward

Everything else is a little harder and will require planning by competent people

Trump was toast if Roy Cooper woulda run as an anti-incumbent.

The headteacher type women comment is a dead give away of what the actual problem is. Watch out for your balls boys.

Who lost last night? Surely Kamala Harris and Democrats lost bigly. But I think consolidated corporate media are the biggest losers on the night. The talking heads on network news, cable news, and rooms full of writers and journalists in NYC and DC and Chicago and LA proved they know absolutely nothing about what’s going on in the country or why anything’s happening. I don’t think journalism is dead. But consolidated corporate ownership of journalism needs to die.

I wonder if we are in for a more radical reshaping of these media entities, structures and systems. I’m not sure if this has dawned on them yet, but all the talking heads need to understand that over half the country has tuned out and isn’t coming back. They will get their news on a 6” screen from YouTube, TikTok, Joe Rogan etc. and if real journalists can’t reach them there, then fake news will win.

I posted this in another thread so I’ll just repost it here:

I know there are plenty of votes to still count but it’s unlikely that there will be more bits than 2020 and I think that says a lot about what happened. I think there is a large chunk of the electorate that is simply burnt out. The right has done a masterful job of flooding the zone with shit, whether it be culture wars or just trumps rhetoric and the insanity spewed from other righties. It’s a lot to have to deal with to people who actually care about the country and so they’ve checked out. They fucked around and now they are about to find out.

I think the best move for Dems is to lay low and let the republicans hang themselves like they do every time they get into office. That won’t happen though as democrats always put country first and can’t just let a dumpster fire burn. The republicans for decades have proven without a doubt that partisanship is what Americans want, the more partisan and the least amount of compromise the better. Clearly trying to appeal to disaffected republicans was a losing strategy for Harris.

Democrats best option is to play the game as it stands and do whatever it takes to gain control in the future where and if that happens they should put in all the safeguards and reforms our democracy needs. Anything other than that is a losing strategy.

I normally wouldn't care about voters receiving everything from him that they deserve, but I do have to worry about it for my daughter who is graduating high school this year. I'm telling her to stay positive, but I legitimately feel bad she's moving into adulthood during a time like this.

My guy...the GOP was bragging all summer about how they had a plan for the first 100 days of their trifecta. This includes Project 2025. This includes lists of people that have already been pre-vetted for key positions.

They are absolutely primed and ready to go.

Just keep her away from a red state.

But this is pretty chilling:

Maybe but he voted for Kam..

So do you really want to fight with the reliable allies vs those who let us down??

That's what I've been trying to say.. the left tends to turn into a circular firing squad over purity rather than the right which are like.. oh you can be as dumb and stupid as you fucking want.. just vote for Trump!

Don't forget Kam's approach to Republicans and moderates and muslims.. how did they treat her? Did they show up and vote for her?

If you still wanna be ultra pure.. the tent will continue to get smaller.
