So that all 5 people in the US who care can think about buying one and then make up another reason why not to get it anyway?

There would be more than 5 people who would buy one.

It has to look close to this: http://www.holden.com.au/vehicles/Caprice
The Pontiac looks more aggressive with the redone nose and smoked taillights. For a design that already looks a little bland, I don't think dumbing it down for Chevy is the right way to go.Originally posted by: Kadarin

The front end on that is light years ahead of the Pontiac front end.
Holden is the best division in GM.

Over the top? You can't be serious. All they did was change the grill. The Aussie and US versions are virtually identical. It was a low volume car from the get-go. Otherwise they would have brought over a lower trim model without the big wheels and ground effects kit. Check out the base Commodore. That would surely hit the market with fanfare. Or maybe not.Originally posted by: DivideBYZero
No. The Pontiac was over the top, trying too hard. I think the Holden version is the best. The car is supposed to move units while looking good. It was never supposed to be some catwalk model or design prototype.
IMHO.

What GM does with the Chevy version depends on where they position it in their lineup. If they plan to sell Impalas and Caprices side-by-side, rest assured the Caprice is going to look like a SEMA showcar. That is if they want it to actually sell.
