Blue screens, grey screens, red screens, crashing galore!

Notebookreviews forum has about a thousand threads dedicated to this.

Seems like an ATI issue at the heart of it, not an Asus one. Speaking of which, I never had a problem with my 5870s (despite hearing of all the grey screen crashes initially) but I guess they just suck ass in general.

Nvidia - hey at least it probably won't crash.

G73Jh-X5 - going back to Microcenter where ATI can suck a restocking cost for making POS. POS POS POS.

Seems like everyone forgot about the 8600m GT.

Was that due to heat or what?

The Mobility 58 series - there is something literally wrong with them. They will crash at the driver level. Or BIOS level. Or both.

I don't remember what the problem was, I think it was one of those heat issues though were something comes loose due to solder melting and everything is down hill from there.. so to be fair, not really an nvidia problem but a manufacturing problem.

I don't know anything about the m58xx series but that sucks.

My G72 is still kicking after 6 months in Afghanistan. Though the 500gb seagate hard drive died a couple months ago.

No there isn't. My laptop with mobility 5830 is running fine, no issues at all.

Do you have any links with proof or are you just spreading FUD?
