From the FW thread, it seems that Dell has decided to sell the systems at cost. Several members have reported being charged anywhere from $300 to $1000, for rigs that retail at $1500 to $4000. So there is no such thing as a free Dell, but $1000 for a 3.2GHz/2GB/250GB/9800Pro/2001FP is pretty damn hot.

They're speculating, although there is one person that ordered when this deal first came out (I have no idea where) that has a tracking number. 🙁

But I counted close to a dozen who had their rigs in pre-production or production, meaning that the order was approved.

It ain't approved until it's on your doorstep and Dell doesn't have a credit card they can charge the difference on, imho. 😉
