The future Tron? Remake or Sequel?

Just got one doing a little nastalgia walk back to the days of Tron, the Movie. It's amazing what computer technology and 3d graphics capabilities they had way back in 1982. What's even scarier is how far we've come since then. Now, considering how much farther we've come in the past 21 years, if they remade the movie Tron, what do you think it would be like? Would it be remade with graphics similar to the 1982 classic, or would they have very up to date graphics? Would it be a remake or would it be more indicative of things in the 2003 time frame? Maybe like making a movie "Child of Tron" where the original Flynn charecter's kid becomes the next "User" in the movie and "Tron 5.0" is who he teams up with to stop a new super MCP. What are your thoughts on this? Personally, I'd just love to see them make a sequel to Tron, or even just remake the original with as much of the original cast as possible. What do you think?

A little refresher for all you old school tron lovers!

Actually, not all remakes suck. Just those looking to cash in on an old cash cow. The directors and movie theatures looking to just cash in and make money make the sucky sequels. Look at ET? That wasn't a true sequel. That sucked. That was just a pipe dream cash cow that never materialized. Now you look at some of the other movies they've made out there, like Ocean's 11, that did an even better job than the original movie! I've got better examples than that, but at 12:30 in the morning, not too many are coming to mind right now.

I seen that movie in the theaters and though it was painful to watch. I hated it.

I saw it again a few years ago and though it was sorta neat.

Sequel would be nice I guess.....but remakes generally are lame.

mmmmm Tron. Pity I only have a rip of it, I want the DVD. The sequel sounds cool, but I don't know if they will manage to pull it off without looking idiotic.

The graphics better be better than what it was. Tron has horrible graphics compared to today's standards. If that movie were to come out today w/ the graphics it has I would not watch it.
