The Future of Mobile Gaming on AT Front Page

I hope I can hold off my laptop purchase until these come out in May.

It seems that the current plans call for phasing the GeForce4 4200 Go out pretty quickly, with the GeForce FX Go5600 taking over thanks to its superior thermal characteristics and significantly lower power consumption. It is possible that a few more design wins for the GeForce4 4200 Go may pop up in the next week or two, but do not count on it. It seems that the chip was more of a knee jerk reaction to the Mobility Radeon 9000 than a realistic product.

Mobilty Radeon 9600Pro 128MB???!!!! heck yeah! Now we just need laptop manufacturers to start making 17" screens like that Apple notebooks. That would ROCK.

I think we are going to see more and more that laptops/notebooks will be no different than desktops in performance. I mean, the gap is almost closed as it is. Look at Alienware for instance, they're putting out a 3.06Ghz laptop. Yeah I know its a desktop proc but you know what I'm getting at. Now couple that with a Radeon 9600Pro inside. Thats better than 80 percent of the desktops out there...
