Alright, I hate to say it, but it looks like 2008 could be a bigger year in gaming than 2007. With GTA4 and MGS4 released and game of the year candidates... of games that have already been announced as coming in 2008, what do YOU want later this year?

Here's my short list, which isnt too short:
Gears of War 2
Left 4 Dead
Too Human
Madden 09 (yeah, I know this is weird)
Fable 2
Lord of the Rings: Conquest
Midnight Club: LA
This is Vegas
Tomb Raider Underworld
Bionic Commando Rearmed

There's actually not a ton of games I'm looking forward too right now.

Left 4 Dead
Ghostbusters
and maybe the new Wario Game.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I'm sure something will jump at me later on after reviews hit.

those are really the only 2 games that i'm looking forward to this year, with Gears 2 being on top by a long shot.

i've actually only bought 2 games this year as well - Burnout Paradise for 360, and Hot Shots Golf for PS3.

Gears 2 and RockBand 2 is about all I'm looking forward too.

I might look at GH4 (disc only)... Undecided... Of course, I'm sure some more surprises will pop up between now and the end of E3 that I'll want to keep an eye on. If Splinter Cell launches this year, I'll definitely be all over that.

I'm so far behind on games that I want to play but haven't gotten to that it is getting hard for me to get excited about upcoming games because I probably will end up not playing them!!

Gears 2 is probably the only definite one I will be playing when it comes out. Maybe Star Wars: The Force Unleashed too.

Killzone 2 is a guaranteed purchase regardless of score, because I liked the first one quite a bit. Love the story and what they have planned for the new game. But likely won't release till after the new year... sometime.

Same here, but aside from my current unplayed stack (Persona 3 FES, Mass Effect PC, Orange Box, Shivering Isles, ...) :

If they keep coming out with JRPG remakes like FF(n) and Chrono Trigger for the DS, I might pick one up instead of playing the PS1 versions I have in the stack.

oh damn i forgot about LBP, i'm definitely keeping my eyes on that. if it's $40 i'll definitely buy it at launch, otherwise i'll wait and hear more about it first.

and i really doubt KZ2 is going to be out this year. My guess is it'll come out next Spring around March.

Yea they are currently listing it around February 09, and yeah sometime around then. I'd love to see it early, but with Resistance 2 hitting in November, they are definitely going to give that game a few months before dropping another huge FPS.

Latest Splinter Cell basically went back to the drawing board and wont be out till at least 2009, possibly 2010.

Yeah you are probably right. It releases next week in Japan so I figured they might have it localized by the end of the year. I guess probably spring of next year then. I definitely think it will come. P3 was popular here.
