If they where successfully able to pin Uranium shipments or buying purchase from Iraq on France that would really shut those idiots up. Anyway, that wont happen but its fun to think about :D

we found more than enough modern (post 1991) banned French, German, Russian, and Chineese weapons when we went in, nothing ever was or will be made out of that though, the only people who even care about the reasons for going in are anti-Bush,
anti-US asshats. These are also the only people who believe Iraq complied and had no more WMD........

from your links earlier..

"German involvement outstripped that of all the other countries put together, the paper said. During the period to 1991, the German authoritiespermitted weapons co-operation with Iraq and in some cases "actively encouraged" it, according to the newspaper which cited German assistance allegedly given to Iraq for the development of poison gas used in the 1988 massacre of Kurds in northern Iraq. It said that after the massacre America reduced its military co-operation with Iraq but German firms continued their activities until the Gulf War."

The US took the right road obviously, while the EU kept pumping it in, funny they would be the ones to object and claim there were none.....

Defend our actions? When he started committing genocide on his own people we stopped giving him military aid? "It said that after the massacre America reduced its military co-operation with Iraq" What would you like me to explain? Why not ask the Germans why they did not stop?

First of all the EU was not totally against our action, Italy and Spain were vocal supporters. The EU was also not right by any means, I don't remember ANY that took Blair's challenge to PUBLICLY state they knew no WMD would be found, why wouldn't they?

2 months ago they found the largest weapons cache ever in Afghanistan, just outside Kabul in an area we have controlled for YEARS. We also just found 30 mig jets in Iraq, they will show up eventually. Plenty left over still unaccounted for, are you with the group that believes the aliens took them or the one that thinks they just went poof and disappeared?

you said that the US commitment was stopped, I said it was reduced

in all these threads you are trying the same tactics, using things that I never said.

I never denied that the French, Germans etc... actively worked with the Iraqi in different weapon programs

the one person in denial is you -- you are ALWAYS downplaying the US role in everything. You are so blinded by your nationalistic patriotism that it's scary. You would have been a perfect citizen in the Germany of the 30's

It's just pathetic

I have never denied the US's role in arming Iraq with WMD or conventional weapons, only correctly popinted out we were not a major supplier by any strecth of the imagination. Notice we fought t72 tanks, AK47's, chineese silkworm missiles, etc...

The only pathetic one is you, your EU violated UN sanctions they signed themselves and sold out the people of Iraq. You stood by and did nothing in Bosni until the US led the way (Dayton Accords) The world is full of problems left over from EU imperialism and we still have you idiots starting world wars that we have to finish.

The problem is you are obsessed with the US, jealous of our power and prestige, ashamed at where you live and how insignificant your country really is unless it's peddling arms illegally. Nothing but a bunch of hypocrites who have the nerve to call anyone else out, go crawl back in a cave where you belong.

Alistair, we too will be in that position, eventually. Better to empathize with their plight than shoving in their face.

Then so be it, I hope we act with a hell of a lot more class than that.

it's not about the personal attack, I couldn't care less. I just wanted to demonstrate his mindset

He's an AMERICAN, living in the "land of the free", the "most valuable democracy in the world" and he can't have it that an inferior european lazy communist-treehugging liberal is on HIS precious AMERICAN website on the AMERICAN internet (LOL) questioning his SUPERIOR american morality.

If that's true, it says more about the pro-Bush people than the anti-Bush people.

No wonder Saddam went shopping there.....
Welcome back, Alistar7. It's been a while since you last posted an article. Of course, as is your habit, you completely misrepresent its focus.

First, the article you linked is about denying that Iraq tried to purchase uranium from Niger. Niger's president "flatly rejected" the claim. The IAEA also "cleared Niger of all suspicion".

Second, this is old news. This was reported a month or so ago. At that time, I posted an article here quoting a high-ranking Brit who had seen the "other' evidence. He said it all ultimately tracked back to the same Niger forgeries. For example, one piece of the Brit's evidence was a report from German intelligence. But when they went to examine the German evidence, they found it was based on a report from Spain, which in turn was based on the Niger forgery. In other words, according to this person, the "other" evidence was just more of the same B.S. (Note, the countries I named are just for the sake of example. I don't remember the specifics, if he gave them.)

Third, the article reports the complaint that the Bush administration is pressuring Niger to shut up about the matter. Seems they don't like Niger confirming that the Bush allegation is still B.S.

Finally, the one and only comment this article has about the "French uranium connection" is one sentence at the very end of the article -- the sentence quoted by Alistar7. That's it. That's the whole French Uranium Connection" * GASP! *. A French company owns the mines that didn't sell uranium to Iraq.

Stinkin' godless frogs -- ought to nuke 'em.
