the fountain

most people get lost...its a tad confusing...

also im sure a lot of people expected an action movie judging from the trailers...

i thought it was a great movie

It was a HORRIBLE Horrible, HORRIBLE movie. It was just a string of obvious cliches and pseudo intellectualism. Basically it felt like a directors first effort out of school. Amateurish, unentertaining and a complete failure at cleverness to boot.

I think the best example was the director using props that were similarly shaped in different parts of the movie to draw parallels between the obviously similar but disconnected actions of the characters. There was literally a big circle around the reference he wanted to make at one point, and the whole thing just felt hackish.

Wait are we talking about Equilibrium now?

😕

Never seen it, and that's probably for the best.

Some cliches, sure.

spoiler alert

I don't think the whole keep your lover alive as a tree for 500 years and take her to a nebula is all that cliched. Although if you replace it with a wife in a vegetative state and the husband staying by her side, maybe.

end spoiler

Equilibrium was a great movie. The end was no cliche. The movie was full of things I never anticipated. It was a good movie.

Have you been living in a cave? There was not a single plot element of that movie that I hadn't seen in a book or movie at least 10 years prior.
