Question The forthcoming 25H2 Windows 11 roll-out -- who wants to speculate?

As October 14 approaches, I've been catching up on matters I should have explored in 2021, but I was providing disabled/elder-care to two family members -- a burden I embraced until end of 2023. If I had "been on the ball" so to speak, I would've updated my Windows 10 to Win 11 on gens 6 and 7 systems I had built.

Now I have two of these systems smoothly updated to Windows 11 and running perfectly.

Experiences by folks who've been running Win 11 on excluded hardware seem to suggest that the trouble-free installations can be upgraded with Feature Updates by downloading the Win 11 ISO file raised to that Update and installing it as we previously had done in in-place repair-upgrades to Win 10 when we first installed Windows 11.

Now we are facing the release of Feature Update 25H2. Will we continue to have this luck -- being able to go through the hoops described here to update our unsupported Windows 11 systems?

All sorts of rumors abound about what M$ may do. Some rumors say they will loosen the hardware requirements of Windows 11; others suggest they will tighten the requirements.

What are your anticipations in this looming question, and how do you justify them?

If history repeats, yes. ISO in-place upgrades have worked from 21H2 through 24H2 on unsupported CPUs with bypass scripts. MS hasn't shown signs of hard-blocking existing installs mid-cycle, only new ones via setup/update.
