If Republican aim is to ensure same day voting on paper ballots.
Then your efforts are likely to be thwarted for a valid reason.

Because what you call restriction, they call security.
The fight will be over the meaning of definitions.

They will claim we can and we should vote as we always have. No harm in continuing to do it like we did back when the 14th was written.
You will claim that without all the fancy new bells and whistles and a plethora of (insecure?) options... that people's right to vote is somehow being violated.
They will claim all the additions are ripe for fraud and forgery.
You will ask for proof.
They will fail to meet your challenge to your satisfaction.
They won't care.

It is an eternal fight with no resolution except for whoever decides to use force upon the other. You are thinking this so called punishment is a gentle way to force them without resorting to violence. I think you forget that you are dealing with the very concept of voting, of civil discourse and peaceful transfer of power. You saw how irrational they were on Jan 6th.... This won't end without a bloody fight.
