DARPA expects the flying Humvee to be piloted by troops with about the same amount of training that it takes to drive an armored vehicle.

This will be badass if they build it and it folds itself into a size that can be drivable on a regular road and fit into one lane.

I wonder what the fuel economy will be?

The need to lighten the vehicle for flight would mean less armor. DARPA states that the vehicle would be able to stop most small arms fire..

So they can stop worrying about the IED's but are back to worrying about being shot?
